The logo of the Don Bosco Foundation for Sustainable Development, Inc. (DBFSDI) underwent evolution as the consciousness of the carriers of the initiative also evolved.
The first logo was inspired by the dream of the patron of the youth, Saint John Bosco of Turin, Italy which was our dream dedicated to the holistic guidance and assistance of the youth.
As we grew in heightened awareness of the ecological issues in agriculture, we wanted to embrace everyone, not only the Christians and Catholics, after all, we only have one Biosphere, thus the second logo.
But our consciousness did not stay geocentric, as we begin to grasp our true calling within true interconnectedness and expanded ecology that included the cosmos. We wanted to depict this in our logo, thus the third logo evolved , a picture of the seed of a new consciousness we wanted to share and spread to humanity.
Now finally, we have found the logo that expresses the depths of what we are and what we envision.
The black heptagon speaks of the seven-fold human being going through seven epochs and cycles of sevens in its unfolding. It speaks also of the seven dimensions of human life and seven dimensions of sustainable development, the context of where humanity must struggle to attain perfection.
The color circle at the center pictures the process of metamorphosis through time and pictures the vision of perfection, the balance and harmony of all the colors of the Cosmos, the attainment of which every human being must struggle. This is the vision of DBFSDI.
The painting at the center is taken from a painting from a Weleda Calendar, only one page is left and we will have to find the artist behind the painting to be able to thank him/her because of the insight and inspiration.
